AN ODYSSEY

Who am I? This question is crucial, but more importantly the journey. The question really is what journey am I on? A journey is an explanation of who you are. The obstacle and types of people you meet define who you are. Your response and understanding throughout the journey reveal who you are.Being in situations that challenge your mental and feeling is an indicator of what you are. For example, being in a situation where you feel stuck and helpless are indicators and hints that you are indeed an ambitious helpful person. Being in a relationship that drains you is a hint that you are full of life. An issue can’t exist without an answer. You are the answer and the opposite of your “issues”. They are only problems because they are the opposite of you. You are the opposite of your troubling situation and the answer.©2021

Position yourself

Being willing to position yourself for change or an opportunity is important to self-growth and success. Sometimes we have to be willing to do something new and different to enter a new phase to be elevated to a new experience. ©2021

Are you fantasizing or are you making it happen?

Obstacles are actually opportunities in disguise. The power of an obstacle is that it causes one to think outside their norm to be able to overcome. All obstacles can be defeated. You have to develop the mindset that you will not allow a small stumbling block prevent you from achieving what you are after. Many make the mistake assuming an obstacle means it cannot happen or they can’t do it but that is further from the truth. An obstacle actually means its obtainable but only if you want it bad enough. Look at it as a test to determine if this is truly something you want. That’s the difference between someone who wants something and someone that has to have it. A would like to have person only fantasize.  A I have to have it person makes it possible.

Are you fantasizing or are you making it happen?

Secret to Motivation

To understand the secrets to motivation you must first understand what motivation is. Many people think that motivation is a “thing” that gets someone to do something. In other words, many believe to become motivated there has to be a stimulus such as a speaker, song, and etc. The truth is motivation is only internal. One is only motivated by personal values. An individual speaker or song cannot motivate someone. The person cannot motivate. They have to touch an individual personal value to motivate. Motivation is a “reason” someone acts or behaves a certain way. A motivational speaker or song has to give a “reason” that correlates with one’s values to be effective in motivating. Personal values are things that one values. Personal values give us direction. We will either protect and honor our values or complain about how something or someone is violating our values. Either way, we respond to our values.
The secret to motivation is to focus on your values. Constantly remind yourself of your value. When values are provoked one will be motivated to defend them. What do you value?
